Representatives of the SFMS participate in the Working Groups and the 27th Plenary Meetings of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units
From June 28 to July 9, 2021, SFMS representatives are taking part in the meetings of the Working Groups and the 27th Plenary Meeting of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, which, due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, are held online.
During these meetings, the project activities are considered and discussed, as well as a number of issues related to global measures taken by the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units and its members in the area of anti-money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing (hereinafter – AML/CFT), in particular:
projects where the SFMS is involved;
IT solutions and their use in the work of the Egmont Group;
implementation of a risk-based approach in FIU operations.
Participation in events under the auspices of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units is important in terms of understanding global policies, trends and tendencies in the AML area and in the fight against terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
