The ceremony of the special postal cancellation dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine has taken place

On January 10, 2022, a special postal cancellation “20 years. The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine” has taken place at the official ceremony dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the SFMS.

Commemorative postage stamps and envelopes with the image of the SFMS building and the Service emblem have been made for this event.

Presentation of the postage stamps and envelopes as well as the special postmark cancellation ceremony was held in a ceremonial environment with the participation of the representatives of the SFMS; leadership of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine; the Member of Parliament of Ukraine – Head of the Subcommittee on Payment and Information Systems Functioning and Prevention of Legalization (Laundering) of Proceeds from Crime of the Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; international partners – the representatives of the European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), the Council of Europe PGG project; the representatives of Ukrainian authorities and public.

The ceremony was moderated by Natalia Mukhina, Head of the Philatelic Products Department of PJSC Ukrposhta.

As it was stated by the Head of the SFMS Igor Cherkaskyi: “We are honoured to be involved in the state philatelic and postal affairs. This event adds even more festivity to our small anniversary and will in fact be a historic milestone in Ukraine's financial intelligence work. I am sincerely grateful to the staff of Ukrposhta for supporting and promoting the activities of the SFMS”.

It stands to mention that the date indicated on the prepared special postmark corresponds to the anniversary day, and the original postmark itself, according to the postal rules, is valid for only one day.

This special cancellation is also important for philatelists, as the postage stamps that are cancelled with a special postmark acquire additional philatelic value and are a desirable specimen for collecting.
