The workshop on “Current Challenges during Investigation of Economic Crimes” was held in Lviv

On 20-21 of March, 2019, the international scientific and practical workshop on “Current Challenges during Investigation of Economic Crimes” was held in Lviv, organized by the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) in Ukraine, in cooperation with the State Institute of Postgraduate Education “Academy of Financial Monitoring”.

The workshop was attended by the international experts, representatives of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, the State Migration Service of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, judges and law enforcement representatives.

The main purpose of the workshop was to establish a high-level dialogue with the relevant government bodies for the further development and improvement of economic crimes investigation system.

Particular emphasis should be placed on the fact that the workshop is highly relevant and practical for representatives of law enforcement and judicial authorities. The workshop discussed issues related to the implementation of measures to investigate economic crimes.

Also, the workshop paid a special attention to issues on tools for search of corruption incomes, risks of the securities market in the field of financial monitoring, information security means, discussing the application of international experience regarding the procedure for interaction of financial intelligence units as well as to the methodological principles of financial fraud investigation.
