Greetings from the Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine Igor Borysovych Cherkaskyi on the occasion of the establishment of the Day of Financial Monitoring Worker
Dear workers of the financial monitoring system !
Today, the President of Ukraine signed Decree № 523/2020, which established the Day of Financial Monitoring Worker on 28 November.
That's the day when in 2002 the Parliament of Ukraine adopted the Law On Preventing And Counteracting To Legalization (Laundering) Of The Proceeds Of Crime - the first AML Law in the history of independent Ukraine which established the national financial monitoring system.
Establishing by the President of Ukraine the mentioned professional day on the Ukrainian Government proposal demonstrates the acknowledgment of the high authority to the actions are being taken by the national financial monitoring system participants and significant results of their activities.
I'm confident that the mentioned step will have a positive effect on the implementation of the international cooperation of Ukraine with FATF and the Council of Europe - MONEYVAL Committee.
I would like to congratulate the staff of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine and all participants of the national AML/CFT system represented by: state and law enforcement agencies, reporting entities, public and self-regulated organizations of the financial monitoring sphere.
Ukrainian AML/CFT system has been improved gradually, taking into account international commitments.
Only in recent time, modern legislation has been adopted; domestic interagency and international cooperation have been improved, and the private sector supports these activities actively and effectively.
The results give us the possibility to note firmly and with dignity our commitment to put all of our efforts and potential on further development of the national financial monitoring system.
We continue to persevere in work for the benefit of Ukrainian society and Ukraine international standing !
