The SFMS participates in the autumn FATF Plenary meeting

During 18-21 October, 2022, the SFMS will participate in the regular FATF Plenary meeting and the relevant Working groups meetings, which will be held in Paris (French Republic).

The Plenary meeting plans to consider a number of issues regarding global AML/CFT/PF actions taken by the FATF and its members.

The SFMS participates in the mentioned FATF events with the support of the project “European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI).

It should be mentioned that in the light of the latest terrible terrorist attacks committed by the RF in Ukraine, there is an urgent need of the adequate severe response of the relevant international institutions responsible for global security including financial one.

The Head of the SFMS Igor Cherkaskyi personally appealed to the FATF President Mr. Raja Kumar, who began a two-year term as FATF President on 1 July 2022, succeeded Dr. Marcus Pleyer, with the reasoned call to exclude the aggressor country from the FATF and including the RF in the “black” list.

In this context, the SFMS has prepared the relevant appeal to the FATF with the request to put the RF under sanctions for those flagrant violations of the international standards daily committed by the aggressor country against peaceful Ukraine.

Everyone understands that the time for discussions is rapidly running out. The RF challenged the global security and all its guarantors, therefore, the time has come to make a clear and adequate decision.

Glory to Ukraine!
