The SFMS has signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the FIU of the Kingdom of Sweden

The Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, Mr. Igor Cherkaskyi, signed with the Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Police Authority of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ms. Lena Palmklint, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concerning cooperation in the area of counteraction to legalization (laundering) of the proceeds of crime, the financing of terrorism and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

This event took place during the working visit of the representatives of the SFMS to the FIU of the Kingdom of Sweden in Stockholm on 27-28 November.

The key purpose of the MOU is the legal regulation of the mutual exchange of financial intelligence, which is at the disposal of the financial intelligence units of Ukraine and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The MOU establishes the obligations and rights of the parties regarding confidentiality, protection, further use and dissemination of information, based on the principle of reciprocity.

Currently, the SFMS has concluded 81 international interagency agreements on cooperation with financial intelligence units of foreign states.
