The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine is discussing the involvement of the international technical assistance from UNODC

On December 13, 2022, the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine (the SFMS) held a meeting with representatives of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Participants of the financial monitoring system of Ukraine were invited to participate in the meeting, specifically: law enforcement agencies, state regulators, as well as other state authorities.

During an active and long discussion, a constructive exchange of opinions took place among the participants of the AML/CFT system and the representatives of UNODC in order to discuss the current state of the activities of the relevant state authorities, as well as their needs, which will allow them to perform their tasks more efficiently and productively.

In the conditions of the ongoing bloody war of Russia against Ukraine, and as a result of the limited resources of the Government, the involvement of technical assistance from international partners is an extremely important factor for preserving the potential of the participants of the AML/CFT system, as well as supporting a positive trend regarding measures to bring the national anti-legalization regulatory framework to international standards.
