The delegation of the SFMS of Ukraine takes part in the 22nd Plenary meeting of the Egmont group of FIUs held on 1-6 June 2014 in Lima, Peru

On 1-6 June, 2014, the delegation of the SFMS of Ukraine takes part in the 22nd Plenary meeting of the Egmont group of financial intelligence units held in Lima, Peru.
Under the preliminary arrangements within framework of the 22nd Egmont Plenary meeting agreements have been signed on information exchange in the AML/CFT area with the FIU of Guernsey (British Crown dependency) and the FIU of the Republic of Lebanon.
At the same time, during the Plenary meeting bilateral negotiations are conducted with FIUs of the USA, UK, Switzerland, Austria and Latvia on detecting and recovery of assets of former high officials to Ukraine
However, within the framework of the 22nd Egmont Plenary meeting FIUs of 132 countries discuss and determine the issues of the most efficient information exchange between FIUs; FIU role and capacities in criminal assets search and recovery; advantages and mechanisms of bilateral and multilateral information exchange and other issues.
In addition, the delegation of the SFMS of Ukraine takes part in the Egmont Committee meeting, Egmont Working Group meetings and in the workshop on “The Role of FIU in asset recovery and combating corruption”.

Egmont group of financial intelligence units is an international organization consisting of 132 members connected to the unified secure network for information exchange between financial intelligence units worldwide. Egmont group membership is one of requirements under FATF Recommendations.
