The State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine has conducted practical training for banking institutions in preparation for the MONEYVAL mission

SFMS has started to conduct a set of training events for entities in the framework of preparation to the 5th round mutual evaluation of the national system of combating legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, terrorist financing and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL), which would take place from March 27 to April 8, 2017.
Practical training was organized for reporting entities – banking institutions and payment organizations, with the National Bank of Ukraine on January 17, 2017.
"Such training is extremely effective measure to strengthen the team spirit between the public and private sector involved in financial monitoring area that is vital thing to promote the role and the place of reporting entities in prevention and counteraction to legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime, terrorist financing and the financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction ", said Igor Cherkaskyi, the Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine.
The key aspects of the reporting entities assessment’s preparation which activities are regulated by the National Bank of Ukraine were presented and the tentative list of issues that may be raised during the working mission were discussed on the practical training.
The similar practical trainings will be conducted for all reporting entities and their state regulators by the SFMS in the nearest future.
