Congratulations on the 15th anniversary of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine
Dear Colleagues!
Today, on January 10, 2017 is 15th anniversary since the establishment of the SFMS by the Government of Ukraine as the national financial intelligence unit of Ukraine.
Let me express sincere congratulations on this anniversary to the all SFMS staff and members of the national financial monitoring system that are our partners, namely: state authorities, reporting entities, public and self-regulatory organizations in the AML area.
Ukrainian system of counteraction to laundering of the proceeds from crime and financing of terrorism is actively developing and improving in view of international obligations of Ukraine.
These 15 past years were marked with a large number of events that were accompanied by the SFMS and became the basis for the efficient development in Ukraine of effective state institutions and mechanisms for the prevention and counteraction to legalization (laundering) of the proceeds from crime, financing of terrorism and financing of proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Only recently the SFMS blocked more than USD 1.5 billion on the accounts associated with former high officials and those are currently seized, ensured conduction of the national risk assessment, adopted modern legislation and significantly enhanced interagency and international cooperation.
The results of our 15 years of work make it possible to declare firmly and with dignity that the SFMS is further determined to focus all its efforts and the potential for further development of the national system of financial monitoring.
We worked hard, work and will work for the benefit of the entire Ukrainian society and strengthening of Ukraine as the European state.
