A meeting of experts of the World Bank program for the recovery of stolen assets (StAR Initiative) took place

On July 29, 2014 the meeting of experts of StAR Initiative (World Bank program for recovery of stolen assets) and the joint mission of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime took place in The Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine.
Issues concerning the improvement of cooperation between the FIU of Ukraine and international institutions in finding and freezing of assets of former Ukrainian officials and their associated persons were discussed during the meeting.
Experts of StAR Initiative expressed strong support for the SFMS of Ukraine in solving the urgent issues mentioned above.
As a result, the parties have agreed to continue work on improving cooperation mechanisms, in particular, taking to account international experience, to solve issues that arise in the SFMS of Ukraine during performance of its assigned tasks in AML/CFT area.
